Jungle Wat Online

Jungle Wat is also known as Ta Prohm. Jungle Wat quite possibly the most mystical of all the temples of Angkor, Ta Prohm (Jungle Wat) is often a visitor's favorite. Jungle Wat caught at the right moment, it conveys a sense of discovery and other-worldliness beyond that of the other temples of Angkor. This is due in large part to the fact that the Jungle Wat temple has been spared the restoration efforts given to other temples. Ta Prohm is being slowly swallowed by the jungle, and this battle between the natural and the man-made is what makes Jungle Wat so picturesque.

Jungle Wat (Ta Prohm) is a site that dates back to 1186 AD, thereabout. Of all the sites at Angkor, which is a large area, Jungle Wat has its own beauty, roots that encircle the temples there. Jungle Wat or Ta Prohm is a modern name for the temple, it was originally called Rajavihara, located about one kilometer east of Angkor Tom, which to me is the tower gate, with faces, perhaps the most magnificent piece of art work at the Angkor complex.
